Whiteboard: Fundamentals of AI and ML
Knowing the Fundamentals of AI and ML services is one thing. Knowing where each one goes is another. Each round gives you a requirement and a diagram with empty boxes: drag the right services in, leave the decoys out, and read why each piece fits.
Draw the design before someone asks you to.
What you will practise
You will practise Fundamentals of AI and ML, with questions touching AI use cases and ML lifecycle.
- AI use cases
- ML lifecycle
It is part of the AWS Certified AI Practitioner track (AIF-C01), where Fundamentals of AI and ML is about 20% of the exam.
A taste of what you will get
Each month, Priya wants every customer scored for their chance of cancelling, using a model trained on two years of labelled history. The list is due the next morning, and nobody needs an instant answer.
Sample design 1: Priya's monthly churn scores. Which service fills the empty box?
- Amazon Bedrock
- SageMaker batch transform
- SageMaker real-time endpoint
Answer: SageMaker batch transform. Scores a whole dataset offline on a schedule, with no endpoint left running between runs.
Dana wants a weekly view of how customers feel, drawn from 5,000 recorded support calls. Nobody listens to the calls one by one.
Sample design 2: Dana's call-centre insights. Which service fills the empty box?
- Amazon Comprehend
- Amazon Polly
- Amazon Rekognition
Answer: Amazon Comprehend. Finds sentiment and key phrases in the transcripts.
How scoring works
- Every correct answer pays 10 XP for each difficulty level, so an easy item is worth 10, a medium one 20 and a hard one 30.
- Answer with time to spare and you can earn up to 5 bonus XP on top.
- A wrong answer pays nothing. It does not cost you anything either.
- Flashcards pay 2 XP each time you grade yourself 3 or higher.
- Using a hint costs 2 XP, so use it when it helps, not when it is comfortable.
- Finish a session on consecutive days to build a streak. Your progress lives in your browser, and signing in syncs it.
