Quiz: Operational efficiency and optimization
Think you know Operational efficiency and optimization? The quiz will find out. Every question has a clear answer, a timer that is polite but firm, and an explanation that tells you why the wrong choices looked so tempting.
Pick the right answer before the clock picks for you.
What you will practise
You will practise Operational efficiency and optimization, with questions touching operational.
- Operational
It is part of the AWS Certified Generative AI Developer - Professional track (AIP-C01), where Operational efficiency and optimization is about 12% of the exam.
A taste of what you will get
Your agent sends the same 6,000-token system prompt and tool definitions on every call. Which feature lowers cost and latency for that repeated prefix?
- Raising temperature
- Prompt caching
- Model distillation only
- Disabling streaming
Answer: Prompt caching. Prompt caching reuses a stable prefix at a reduced rate and with lower latency on cache hits. Temperature and streaming do not change what you pay for repeated input.
A nightly job summarises 200,000 documents and nobody is waiting for results. Which option is typically cheapest?
- Bedrock batch inference reading from S3
- Provisioned Throughput with a six-month commitment
- Streaming each response
- On-demand calls in a tight loop
Answer: Bedrock batch inference reading from S3. Batch inference processes prompts asynchronously at a discounted price versus on-demand for supported models. Provisioned Throughput pays for idle capacity and streaming adds nothing to an offline job.
How scoring works
- Every correct answer pays 10 XP for each difficulty level, so an easy item is worth 10, a medium one 20 and a hard one 30.
- Answer with time to spare and you can earn up to 5 bonus XP on top.
- A wrong answer pays nothing. It does not cost you anything either.
- Flashcards pay 2 XP each time you grade yourself 3 or higher.
- Using a hint costs 2 XP, so use it when it helps, not when it is comfortable.
